Im getting my hair done soon..... I want to get lowlights, are they nice?

I dont think ive eve seen lowlites on anyone before only highlights and i want to get a side fringe too not an big mive one lke some people have but a nice pretty one any pics of side fringes please? I have dark brown hair and pale skin
