Will solid-state flash memory overtake optical/magnetic media?

Seems like the capacity of flash memory cards like Compact Flash, SD, etc is increasing every day. When 5 and 10 Gb memory cards are available in a few years will people still want CDR/DVDR disks? Will boomboxes and home/car stereos start coming with card slots? Will you be able to rent 'Movie Cards' from Blockbuster or Netflix? Flash memory is faster to write then optical, requires less hardware, and is smaller in size and more rugged. (no scratches) Are there any disadvantages?
